Larry Van Horn, PhD

<strong><span style="text-decoration: underline;">Profile</span></strong>

A renowned expert and researcher on health care management and economics, Larry Van Horn is a leading figure within the Vanderbilt health care community. His research in consumer driven health care markets assisted the Whitehouse with the Executive Order requiring true price transparency in healthcare markets, which was signed into law on November 15, 2019. He is a member of the Health and Human Services (HHS) Quality Summit Panel. He has consulted with many of the largest hospital systems and insurers in the US on topics of data analysis as well as antitrust concerns. Professor Van Horn's research on healthcare organizations, markets and managerial incentives has appeared in such leading publications as the Journal of Health Economics, International Journal of Industrial Organization, Meical Care, Harvard Business Review, New England Journal of Medicine, Management Science and Operations Management and Stanford Law Review. He earned a Ph.D. from The Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania and an MBA and MPH from University of Rochester.
