<strong><span style="text-decoration: underline;">Profile</span></strong>

James Bretting is currently Associate Vice President, Real Estate for Memorial Hermann Health System, the largest not-for-profit health system in Southeast Texas with 16 hospitals and numerous specialty programs and services. James has been in this role since July, 2015 when he was promoted from his previous role of Director of Real Estate. He currently oversees all real estate transactions for the system including acquisitions, dispositions and office and retail leasing. He also has a prominent role in real estate development for the system which at the current time exceeds $1 billion. Prior to his employment with Memorial Hermann, James served as Senior Asset Manager of Weingarten Realty Investors and oversaw all aspects and day to day operations of an 8.5 million square foot industrial portfolio located outside the state of Texas. His responsibilities included acquisitions, dispositions, leasing and overall portfolio performance. He has been involved in over $1.5 billion of acquisitions and dispositions and over $500 million of lease transactions during his career. James began his career as a commercial real estate appraiser after earning a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from Baylor University with a concentration in real estate and finance.
